Story Time With Santa
Following the success of last year, we're inviting Santa back into the Imaginarium to read a Christmas themed book. An event perfect for those who still believe in the magic of Christmas.
Our cosy little bookshop is the perfect backdrop to have a magical time, and we ensure that the groups are small so the children get to spend some quaility time with Santa. The children will have the opportunity to hear Santa read them a story and then meet with him. There will be plenty of photo opportunities with Santa and his elves so you can keep the memories alive all year round. Each child will recieve a gift from Santa too.
Please note, the Imaginarium is a small shop and we can only accomodate one grown up per child.

Meet Jonah Rideout
Join Jonah Rideout at The Imaginarium, where he’ll be talking about his new book A Rubbish Journey and hosting an illustration workshop.
A Rubbish Journey follows nine-year-old Megan. When she carelessly drops her ice lolly wrapper into the sea, she could never have anticipated what happens next. Embark on a wild underwater adventure with Megan, Trent the Tough Tornado Tackling Turtle and a host of other sea creature characters, as they learn all about the dangers of plastic pollution and how important it is to look after our oceans, saving sea creatures suffering from littering and pollution along the way.
Jonah’s workshop is perfect for ages 6-12 years. He will be taking the young ones through the act of illustrating his work and reading an excerpt from his book.
This is a free event, but you need to RVSP. Either in person or to info@imaginariumbooks.co.uk

Walk and Talk with Jodi Longyear
Join Jodi Longyear, author of New Forest 222 and New Forest 222+ as he takes us for a walk around Lymington and its surrounding areas.
Do you want to see where you live in a new light? Do you want to learn more about the points of interest where you live? Do you want to meet others who have similar interests? The come along to our Walk and Talk.
We will meet at The Imaginarium at 6pm for a walk and talk. Jodi has developed a walk that we think you’ll like and will help you learn a little bit more about our local area.
The walk will finish back at The Imaginarium with some of us heading to the pub for a well-earned rest afterwards.
This event is free, but we ask that people reserve a space either in store on at info@imaginariumbooks.co.uk
Please note - this walk is suitable for moderate fitness and above. There will be uneven and muddy paths, but no steep hills.
The event is weather dependent, but it might be worth bringing a raincoat in case we get caught in a shower. You can fill up your water bottles at The Imaginarium before we depart.

Independent Bookshop Week
Independent Bookshop Week
Independent Bookshop Week is a chance for us to celebrate what it means to be an independent bookshop, so this year we’re celebrating in the most important way - with you! We have a full week of activities planned - see below. Some of these will require booking, so please make sure you read the details. We’re sorry to say that we cannot guarantee spaces.
You’ll note that all these events are free, with Imaginarium staff and guest speakers giving up their own time to ensure these events are accessible. So, we kindly ask you to respect that events and offers are done on a first come first serve basis and can not be extended. We also ask that if you book on to an event and you can no longer make it, you let us know so we can offer the place to someone else.

Late Opening and Drinks
To start off the week, we’ll be opening until 9pm with a good supply of wine, beers and orange juice. Whether you’re a regular, shop mascot or have never walked through the door before, you are all welcome to join us for a drink and a chat while you browse. No Need To Book
Sunday 16th
10% off Indie Book Award Titles
Every year Books Are My Bag ask independent bookshops what books they loved. These books are then shortlisted and with one being the winner of the Indie Book Awards.
On Sunday 16th we’re offering customers 10% off of these titles. They’ll be easy to spot, becuase they’ll be on the centre table. You can also see the short list here
Monday 17th
Children’s Book Giveaway
For any children’s books purchased between Monday 17th- Friday 21st June (inclusive), you will be entered into a draw to win one of FIVE goodie bags.
This goodie bag includes a children’s tote bag, a children’s book, a bookmark and some sweet treats*.
The winner will be announced on Sunday 23rd June.
*The boring bits - only one entry per person, must be able to collect the prize, no cash value and can not be exchanged in store.

Illustration Workshop - Draw Your Own Character
Join local illustrator Amy Leonard as she shows your young ones - and those not so young - how to draw. This FREE interactive session will show you the basics of illustrating and hopefully inspire you to continue drawing.

It’s been a little while since we had a story time, but when better to have one than during Independent Bookshop Week?
Join us for story time at 9:30 as we read some of the classic children’s books we all know and love. We’ll be reading from the under 5’s section but children and adults of all ages who enjoy a good story are more than welcome. We might even have some sweet treats for people to take away with them!

BrockFest
We will be at BrockFest 2024 with a curated selection of titles and bookish gifts!
Bring the whole family to Brockenhurst College for BrockFest - there’ll be something for everyone. You can enjoy food and drink, live music, face painting and sporting activities, among many other attractions.
Entry Fee - to be paid on the day £2
