The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole - Review
When I first picked this book up I wasn’t expecting to like it all, in fact I thought this would be a DNF. It ended up being a 5 star read and the book that got me back into reading fantasy!
My thoughts:
I think going in with lower expectations helped a lot with my enjoyment with this book. It’s not a literary masterpiece, but the best books usually aren’t. Sometimes all you need for a good book is just a good story and morally grey characters with sass and that’s exactly what I got from The Book of Azrael. I do have to ask why you would nickname a GOD Liam when his name is Samkiel, the logical go to would be Sam right? Though now that I’ve read the book I can’t think of him as anything other than Liam.
Dianna has got to be one of my favourite characters of all time, she’s fierce, villianous and always has a comeback for anything anyone says to her. I loved seeing her interactions with the rest of the characters, her sass had me genuinely laughing out loud.
This is such an easy book to read, once I got into the thick of the plot I was flying through it, definitely one that I couldn’t put down. I needed to know what was happening next and the end may have been slightly predictable but I genuinely didn’t think it was going to turn out the way it did. It’s one of those endings where you NEED the next book already on your shelf because you won’t be able to read anything else! This series is my new book obsession.
Do I recommend this book? Absolutely, 100%, yes. Go read it!!!
